Happy Holidays! I have spent slot of time this year growing and harvesting tons of pumpkins that I think would suit your Fall needs next year.
From eating to decorating, there is a wide array of different pumpkins, squash, and gourds available.
I’m going to highlight some of my favorites, and new seeds that are now available in my shop.
- Cushaw: Available in green and yellow, the Cushaw is a squash, with sweet flavors and texture similar to sweet potato. A large growing crookneck variety.
- Grizzly Bear: This caramel colored pumpkin is covered in little benign warts. A true decorative yet still edible pumpkin variety. Definitely a favorite of ours for Halloween!
- Fairytale: The fairytale pumpkin is a mottled blueish grayish large and tall variety. Very tough skinned.
- Speckled Hound: This stacker-style green and orange mottled squash is a vibrant decoration that you can eat later for it’s sweet fruit.
- Honeynut Squash: A palm-sized super sweet hybrid of the common Butternut.
- Pie Pumpkins: Unlike the thin-walled stringy carving pumpkins, these softer textures pumpkins are ideal for pie making. Medium sized bright orange fruits that hold up to the cold and will be one of the last survivors of your seasonal decorating. Although, they won’t last when you’re tempted to roast them!
- White Pumpkins: Another tasty pumpkin more suited for eating or use in pies. Also makes a great decoration for the fall season.
I will update this as more species are available in my shop. If you have a question about a specific type feel free to ask below! Photos are available in each listing but will add photos soon.
All of my seeds are organic, grown in Kentucky, and hand inspected. For every 100 seeds, I immediately discard any visibly unviable seeds. (Flat, Mis-shapen, Soft) After this seeds are washed with dilute hydrogen peroxide and allowed to dry for 2 weeks, being flipped every day, several times a day. At this stage, I hand inspect every single seed. Bad seeds are removed, only the best are packaged for you! For every 100 seeds, about 30 are discarded. This is a loss for me, but when you open your seed packs you’ll find the highest quality seeds available! I tout very high viability and quality and also include extras seeds in each pack just in case.
