Black Elderberry, native to Europe and suitable for USDA zones 4-9, is valued for its immune-boosting antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, while also providing essential habitat for pollinators and wildlife, making it an eco-friendly choice. This hardy shrub stabilizes soil and thrives in diverse environments, adding ecological resilience to landscapes. The foliage is a rich, deep green, with berries that mature to a striking purple-black color.

To germinate, seeds require 60-90 days of cold stratification, followed by consistent moisture, and may take 1-2 months to sprout. Black Elderberry grows as a deciduous shrub, reaching 8-10 feet, and prefers moist, well-draining soil in full to partial sun.
