Purple Chinese Noodle Bean (Vigna unguiculata sesquipedalis), native to Asia and ideal for USDA zones 6-11, is a nutritious vegetable rich in fiber, protein, and vitamins that supports digestion and overall wellness. This vigorous climber is excellent for vertical gardens, attracting pollinators and adding visual appeal with its unique, lengthy pods. The plant has lush green foliage, small lavender flowers, and produces striking deep purple pods that can grow up to 18 inches long.

Direct sow seeds in warm, well-draining soil after the last frost, and expect germination in 1-2 weeks. This fast-growing vine flourishes in full sun with rich, moist soil and often reaches heights of 8-10 feet, making it ideal for trellises and fences.
